Professional Series Level 3: Green Teas
This one-day class is devoted to the classic teas of China and Japan, green teas.
By far the most ubiquitous of all the teas of China, our expert will spend the
morning introducing and orienting the class to a world with a seemingly limitless
number of teas. Included will be an exploration of how processing and regional
influences affect leaf styles, flavor and brewing techniques as well as other
unique properties of Chinese green teas. Japanese green teas, while not as numerous,
still present a wide variety of flavor, qualities, style and brewing processes. While
tasting these teas, the presentation will include how processing, a highly mechanized
and technical procedure in Japan, creates so many types of green tea. Many teas will
be brewed and tasted.
Attendees must have successfully completed Foundations of Tea: Level One and Level Two.
