SECURITY OF THE WORLD TEA SUPPLY – PANEL DISCUSSION LED BY JOHN HYDE

John Hyde, Security manager for Maersk Sealand, takes us through the practicalities of the recent Customs (C-TPAT) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) food security initiatives. Charles Powell of CH Powell Customs Brokers provides an overview of the Bioterrorsim Act (registration of worldwide food facilities, prior notification of imports, & retention of records). Panel members from the Tea Association explain how they plan to expand the Association’s role to include serving as US Agent for foreign companies. Representatives from producing countries will examine the implications from their perspective.
